For the last four years my Aunt who lives in Dublin, has sent my mother the latest tree decoration in a series. This is this years piece of art held in my mothers hand.

Started a new blog for the 30 day challenge at worth1000.com and thought I had better add something to this one.

We are still living in Tirau. We spent Christmas in Auckland and caught up with the six kids - we have 3 each. My big news is the possibility of a trip to England and Ireland in May/June with my mother. I haven't been back to England since 1966. Oh boy!

Saturday 21st January we went to Auckland for Dan's eldest sons wedding. It was held on Narrow Neck Beach and the weather was fine, it was a million dollar setting.

Wednesday evening Dan and I combined a few of my favourite things. Dove, one of our computer suppliers had a road show at Mills Reef one of my favourite winery's. We got to check out the latest computer equipment with a few wines and fantastic finger food, and then a photo shoot to end the evening. Life is good!!!

The Big Guys

Friday 28th of April we went to the Tokoroa Cosmopolitan Club, for after work drinks.They had a band called "The Big Guys" who are awesome, there are three of them and the singer was hilarious, with changes of costumes and other props to add to the entertainment. They started off by playing Cold Chisel, INXS and other very danceable songs it was hard to stop dancing. Then they had a break and we were able to sneak home. I thoroughly recommend seeing them if you get the chance!

Adventures in the South Waikato

The South Waikato district of New Zealand - is about 40 minutes from Hamilton, Tauranga and Rotorua, there are three main towns here; Tokoroa, Putaruru and Tirau. Other areas of interest are Arapuni, Jones Landing, Lichfield and Okoroire.

Dining at the Mount

One Saturday on a summer night, we went to Mount Maunganui for dinner. It was a lovely warm night and there were plenty of people out strolling and enjoying themselves.We had a quick drink at the Creme Bar, Chiefs were leading the Blues at half time (and ended up the winners) hurrah.Then a short down the main street and we were in time for our reservation at La Barca Da Francesco, a small Italian restaurant with a wonderful atmosphere and fabulous food.http://www.labarca-da-francesco.co.nz/
